JOHNNY DOYLE HAS committed to playing another season with the Kildare football team.
The news was confirmed by manager Jason Ryan, who will be relieved to have the 37-year-old back in the selection mix this year. Doyle was part of the Irish International Rules squad that beat Australia last year, while he also helped his county to a Division 2 title in 2012.
Doyle has twice been named Kildare’s senior player of the year [2004 and 2005], while he was an All Star in 2010. The Lilywhites beat Mayo 2-19 to 2-18 in a Division 1 clash in Newbridge, although Doyle was not part of the victory.

The corner forward had a similarly difficult decision on whether to continue at this time last year, eventually playing a role in the Lilywhites’ run to a Leinster semi-final and the third round of All-Ireland qualifiers.
