John Terry will lift the Champions League trophy... if Chelsea win it

The Chelsea skipper will sit out the decider with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, having been sent off on Tuesday.

STAMFORD BRIDGE TALISMAN John Terry will be allowed to lift the Champions League trophy and collect his medal should the Blues beat Bayern Munich next month, UEFA have confirmed.

The Chelsea skipper will sit out the decider with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, having been sent off for a knee on Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez on Tuesday night.

However, European chiefs today confirmed the England man Terry would be able to join in with post-match celebrations, should they have something to celebrate in the Bavarian capital.

“If Chelsea win the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final, John Terry will be allowed to lift the trophy and collect the medal,” a UEFA statement reads.

Terry is one of seven players suspended for the tournament decider.
