FORMER FULHAM AND West Ham defender John Pantsil has denied stabbing his wife, Richlove, during an altercation at their home in Accra.
The Hapoel Tel Aviv player spent a few hours in police cells on Friday when news broke that he had stabbed his wife in the eye, with police and a medical report confirming there was an assault.

However, Pantsil’s spokesperson Ebenezer Aidoo, who acknowledged an incident occurred between the deputy Ghana captain and his wife, emphatically denied the stabbing aspect of the story without giving further details. Aidoo stated the couple resolved the issue after the player was released on bail and ‘they are living peacefully now’.
“John in his right frame of senses cannot take a knife and stab (his) wife,” Aidoo told Accra-based Joy FM. Meanwhile, the Ghana FA has also denied the police report: “We want to state for the record that there was no stabbing.”
The spokesperson for the Ghana FA Ibrahim Sani Daara berated the media for reporting on the issue.
He said: “I want to tell the press not to get ahead of time in reporting this matter. We (GFA) are disappointed in some members of the media for their reportage without confirming an aspect of the report claiming there was stabbing in the incident.
“Yes, there was a domestic affair and domestic incident, but there was no stabbing. Richlove is fine, John is fine, they have reconciled. So, as and when we have any further information, we (GFA) will inform you the media.”
