Cork star played on in club game despite disclocating his shoulder TWICE

John O’Rourke went through the pain barrier.

CORK FORWARD JOHN O’Rourke could miss the start of the county’s 2016 season after dislocating his shoulder TWICE playing for Carbery Rangers in last Sunday’s county senior football semi-final against Nemo Rangers.

O’Rourke put his body on the line for his club at Páirc Uí Rinn, coming back on after suffering his first dislocation early in the second half.

O’Rourke had his shoulder popped back into place and returned to the action before it happened again – and he still played on.

The Southern Star newspaper reports that O’Rourke had his shoulder popped for a second time at Cork University Hospital after the game.

It’s the second time this year that O’Rourke has suffered the injury.

Typically, a recurrence results in surgery and O’Rourke will now undergo surgery in early November – a procedure that could rule him out of action for up to five months.

O’Rourke also dislocated his shoulder in last April’s Allianz Football League final against Dublin.
