JOHN JOE NEVIN MADE a winning return to boxing in Coney Island, New York last night.
Fighting for the first time in ten months, the Olympic silver medallist made it four wins from four in his professional career with a TKO of Mexican southpaw Victor Raul Capaceta.
Mullingar native Nevin controlled the opening three rounds and his opponent, who hadn’t previously been stopped, didn’t emerge from his corner for the fourth.
well done just stay away from any family shindigs.
Will be a flash in the pan if he doesn’t start looking after himself. Compare his condition to Luke Campbell and it’s world’s apart since the Olympic final.
Very good point
He doesn’t look like a boxer..
Which is all the more reason this guy should take amazing care of himself ! The whole country knows he has amazing talent …. I was gutted to hear about that incident he was in …. I had major hopes … Kinda still do !! Come John joe … Get it together even more now … We could do with even more to cheer about …
how anyone could support this thug is beyond me. a total skumbag….
A skumbag who nearly won us an Olympic gold medal
He needs to stay in America and start working his arse off and stay as far away from Mullingar as possible. If he doesn’t he’ll be finished as a boxer.
Well done John Joe. Deserved
fairplay could be another world championship winner if he keeps his head about him
