JOHN JOE NEVIN HAS been scheduled to fight in the US this weekend.
Mullingar native Nevin, who won silver for Ireland at the 2012 Olympics, has been out of action since suffering two broken legs in an attack on him back in April.
The 25-year-old signed professionally with Greenblood 12 months ago and won his pro debut in Boston on St Patrick’s Day.
On Saturday night, he will fight four round against a yet to be announced opponent at the House of Dreams in North Carolina.
“We decided after how good John Joe looked sparring against top class guys in Philly that we he was ready for a ‘normal’ fight,” Greenblood’s Tom Moran told Irish-boxing.com.
“It will be against an average opponent, just somebody to let him get the fight day feeling back.”
