Galvin ready to return from injury battle

Midfielder John Galvin has been named in Limerick’s squad for the McGrath Cup and National Football League.

LIMERICK’S JOHN GALVIN is line for a return to inter-county action after more than 18 frustrating months of battles against knee injuries.

Manager Maurice Horan included the midfielder in his 34-man senior panel for the spring, named this afternoon ahead of Limerick’s upcoming games in the McGrath Cup and National Football League.

Galvin went under the knife last summer for a cruciate ligament surgery, his second operation to fix the problem which has dogged him since May 2011, but appears to be nearing a comeback following an autumn and winter of rehabilitation.
