JOHN DOWLING SACRIFICED his big day out at Croke Park last month for the good of his club.
The Ardfert man was offered €2,000 for his club if he ripped up his ticket to see the Kingdom take on Donegal in the championship decider.
He did but was relieved to hear he was going to the game anyway.

This is what the reaction’s been at home and what that few bob means to the north Kerry outfit. Fair dues.
Well done to him, community spirit is still alive in Ireland and nowhere more so than the GAA. And he’s a bit of alright.
Maybe should offer Ursula €2000 for the club for half an hour with John…..
I agree
Good on u guys for the censorship God knows it was that awful, idiots
?
@anbeal: they deleted a comment I posted so I was thanking them for their overactive censorship rules as the comment want even rude or anything
Fair play to him. The bank shoulda stumped up a few more quid than the €2000 tho in fairness….
Agh it’s tax payer money!
They’ve been sponsoring the Club Championship for something like 20 years, so I’m guessing they’ve put a fair few bob into the whole Club structure in that time.
Save a thought for the poor man who got nothing but abuse for not taking the money offered in the original video
Haha he looks like that ‘bitch please’ guy from all those memes
Ardfert is a lovely place – worlds apart from a friendly but rather unpretty Tralee! Well worth a visit!
It’s also a hurling village. I may be wrong, but I don’t think they have a football team.
He was football training in the video
Bernard, Ardfert won the All Ireland Junior Club Football Championship in 2006. Amazingly, they went on the win the All Ireland Intermediate Club Championship the following year. Not bad for a hurling village.
2000 wont light up that field boss
moronic
What would have happened with the marketing campaign if nobody tore up the ticket…county before club??
