Joe Schmidt: 'I feel nervous pressure about trying to be the best prepared we can be'

It’s Scotland first up for the Ireland coach.

JOE SCHMIDT IS this week making final preparations for his first RBS Six Nations campaign as Ireland coach.

And after a dramatic near miss against the All Blacks in the autumn internationals, the New Zealand native admits expectations have been raised.

“Pressure is meeting my own expectations and the expectations of the public,” he says.

“I think there’s some expectation that has been generated by performances in November and I feel nervous pressure about trying to be the best prepared we can be to meet those expectations. So I’m pretty nervous about that.”
