Jockey Davy Russell to leave hospital on Monday

The rider punctured his lung in a nasty incident at Cheltenham during the week.

JOCKEY DAVY RUSSELL expects to be able to leave hospital on Monday after revealing on Twitter that his punctured lung has inflated again.

The rider suffered a bad fall from Un Beau Matin at Cheltenham on Wednesday, leaving him unable to mount Sir Des Champs in Friday’s Betfred Gold Cup.

Russell actually managed to saddle both Argocoat and Stonemaster on Thursday afternoon, but was soon ruled out for the rest of the action at Prestway Park.

However, he took to Twitter on Sunday evening to reveal that he is firmly on the mend.
