Joanne Cuddihy punches ticket to London with 400m display in Japan

The Kilkenny native achieved the Olympic qualification time in the 400m at a Japanese meet last night.

Joanne Cuddihy last night achieved the Olympic qualification time in the 400m at the Shizuoka International Track and Field Meet in Japan.

The Kilkenny City Harriers runner ran 51.45 in wet conditions to win the race and bring the total Irish qualifiers on the track to 17.

Cuddihy will next compete in the Golden Grand Prix in Kawasaki this week where she is hoping to further improve on this time, according to Athletics Ireland.
