JOACHIM LÖW HAS signed a two-year contract extension which will see him stay on as Germany coach until after Euro 2016.
Löw, who has been in charge of the national side since 2006, guided Germany to next year’s World Cup finals in Brazil with an unbeaten qualification campaign that included two wins over Ireland.
“I sense great motivation to continue the team’s development,” he said.
We’ve not yet reached the end of our journey, as we still have ambitious targets which we want to achieve together.
Since Löw took charge, Germany have not finished outside the top four in a major competition. They were runners-up to Spain at Euro 2008 and then beaten semi-finalists at both the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.

If he sees out the full length of his contract, Löw will be Germany’s longest-serving manager since Helmut Schön (1964-1978).
