Jim McGuinness set to see out final year of his contract - reports

A spokesperson told TheScore.ie that they can’t confirm or deny suggestions that the coach will stay on.

JIM MCGUINNESS HAS agreed to stay on for the final 12 months of his four-year contract, according to strong reports emerging today.

Raidió na Gaeltachta earlier suggested a deal had been reached, though a Donegal GAA spokesperson this evening told TheScore.ie that they “can’t confirm or deny” these reports.

McGuinness met with the team and the Executive Committee this afternoon, and the spokesperson added that an official announcement on the decision is not expected until the first week of September.

The manager’s future has been the subject of much speculation after his side were comprehensively beaten by Mayo in the All-Ireland quarter-final earlier this month.
