11 months after last appointment, Down football is searching again for a senior manager

Jim McCorry has left his position in the Mourne County.

DOWN ARE ON the hunt for a new senior football manager just eleven months after they last filled the hotseat.

Last September Jim McCorry took over as Down boss when he replaced James McCartan but it’s been confirmed tonight that he is stepping down after just one season in charge.

McCorry steered Down to Division 1 football league promotion in the spring and they recent the Division 2 final where they were defeated by Roscommon in Croke Park.

In the championship, Down lost out to Derry in the Ulster quarter-final before suffering a surprise defeat in the qualifiers away to Wexford.
