Jim Harbaugh met the Pope and gave him a pair of Nike Air Jordans

Of course.

THE UNIVERSITY OF Michigan college football team are in Italy this week where they are taking in the local culture, history, and playing some paintball.

On Wednesday, the team watched as Pope Francis gave an address at St Peter’s Square in The Vatican.

Afterwards, coach Jim Harbaugh — best known from his four seasons in charge of the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL — met the Pontiff and took the opportunity to give him some gifts.

What do you give the Pope? Well, if you’re Jim Harbaugh, you give a Michigan football helmet and a boxed-up pair of Nike Air Jordans because why not.
