WATERFORD STAR Jessie Barr finished last in the final of the 400m European Championships this evening.
The Ferrybank athlete notched a disappointing 56.83 seconds, almost a second slower than the PB she clocked in the semi-final yesterday.
Paul Hession has made it into the final of the men’s 200m despite putting in a poor showing in the semi-final. The Galway sprinter made it into the last slot when another athlete was disqualified for another lane infringement.
“Gutted and a bit embarrassed with that performance,” Barr tweeted afterwards. “Thanks so much for the support, i wish it had been a better race to watch.
