She was the young fan who came to console a distraught Pauric Mahony in the immediate aftermath of Waterford’s heartbreaking loss to Kilkenny in the All-Ireland hurling semi-final replay.
Jennifer’s lovely gesture made headlines across the country and was acknowledged by Mahony, who sent her this signed photo and message of thanks:

But although she was wearing a Kilkenny jersey that evening, Jennifer hails from Clane in County Kildare.
Today she wore the colours of her native Lilywhites as she joined captain Aisling Holton on the steps of the Hogan Stand and helped to lift the All-Ireland Ladies football intermediate title.
