FOR JEFF BARTON, a charity golf tournament ended with an unforgettable hole-in-one — and a $1 million payday.
Barton teed up last Thursday at the annual benefit for East Mountain High School in New Mexico and, after his round, he was one of 12 lucky golfers selected for the Hole-in-One shootout.
The prize? A cool $1 million for anyone who shot a timely ace. The odds? An estimated 12,500 to 1.
And if you think those odds were high what are the chances that someone would be standing greenside, phone in hand, waiting to film the moment for posterity?
That happened and so Barton’s magic moment — and the reaction of the small gallery — were uploaded to YouTube by East Mountain High the next day.
The million dollar payout is covered by an insurance policy, said the school which raised over $110,000 in the annual gala.
