This Jay Rodriguez stunner put Southampton ahead against Sunderland today

It finished 2-2 at the Stadium of Light.

SOUTHAMPTON DREW 2-2 with Sunderland in the Premier League clash at the Stadium of Light today.

It was a stunning effort from England international Jay Rodriguez that gave the visitors the lead, as he found the corner of the net from outside the box, after the hosts’ defence had failed to clear the danger sufficiently.

Dejan Lovren then doubled the Saints’ advantage, volleying home Steven Davis’ cross after 31 minutes, before Fabio Borini got one back for Sunderland a minute later, finishing well after a fine ball played into the box by Adam Johnson.

Johnson then equalised on 71 minutes, launching an unstoppable strike past goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
