The blockbuster card will be headlined by former world middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez who is expected to draw a sell-out crowd of 17,000 fans when he faces Cuba’s Erislandy Lara.
Quigley’s opponent has not been confirmed yet by promoters Golden Boy but the fight will almost certainly be a four-round contest early on the undercard.
The 22-year-old returned to training in his native Stranorlar on Monday and is expected to fly out to Los Angeles with his father and coach Conor at the end of the month to ramp up his pre-fight preparations.
“America is where it happens,” Quigley told TheScore.iein an interview this week. “That’s where the crowds are.
“LA, Las Vegas, Southern California – it’s the capital of professional boxing no matter what anybody says.
“My first few fights mightn’t draw a big crowd but if I do make it, it would be a dream to come back and fight for or defend a world title in my home country.”
