ACTOR JAMES NESBITT stole the underwhelming show at last night’s title unification bout between Belfast’s Carl Frampton and England’s Scott Quigg.
A former star of TV series The Missing and blockbuster movie The Hobbit was in Manchester to support his fellow Antrim native in his highly-anticipated super-bantamweight bout.

A who’s who of Northern Irish sport was in attendance with former champion national hunt jockey AP McCoy and current Republic of Ireland football manager Martin O’Neill in attendance.
But it was Nesbitt, a passionate Manchester United fan, who stole the show on a night when a cagey fight failed to come to life until the latter stages.
In a television interview, a merry Nesbitt slurred his words, to the amusement of McCoy, as he was asked for his thoughts on the night.
We hope he’s had a good feed of salty carbs this morning, no doubt the celebrations continued long into the night after Frampton claimed a split-decision victory.
