James McClean confirms he's signed for Wigan

The Ireland winger has moved clubs for a fee believed to be around £2million.

IRELAND INTERNATIONAL JAMES McClean has signed for Wigan, the player confirmed on his official Twitter account this evening.

The player was deemed surplus to requirements by Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio, with the two clubs agreeing a fee believed to be in the region of £2million.

The player tweeted: “Delighted to announce a [sic] signed with wigan! Excited and looking forward to the new challenge ahead.”

He subsequently added: “A lot of great people at Sunderland football club esp the players great bunch that al miss had a great time despite few lows #SAFC”
