James McClean sits out Ireland training with back issue

John O’Shea, Eunan O’Kane and Kevin Doyle also didn’t train.

JAMES MCCLEAN HAS sat out Ireland training today with a back injury.

The West Brom winger, who scored twice in Ireland’s recent win over Moldova, could now be a doubt for the trip to Austria.

It’s understood that a further update on his progress will be issued tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Kevin Doyle missed training having just arrived from a lengthy trip from the US, while Eunan O’Kane also did not train as a precautionary measure, with the player suffering from a groin injury. Both players are expected to be available for the upcoming World Cup qualifier.

Sunderland defender John O’Shea, meanwhile, will link up with the squad later today, while the rest of the group trained in Abbotstown this morning.
