Jacob's cracker sees Wexford make it two-on-the-trot

Ursula Jacob is the hero for Wexford as Galway are edged out in Croke Park.

WEXFORD’S SENIOR CAMOGIE players edged out Galway on a scoreline of 2-07 to 1-08 at Croke Park today.

Ursula Jacob proved the hero, grabbing a tally of 1-5 as Wexford successfully defended the title they won 12 months ago.

With less than 10 minutes to go, the sides were all square at 2-5 to 1-8. Then, however, Jacob’s class won out;  she struck a goal and tacked on two points to deliver the O’Duffy Cup to the Model County again.

Earlier, the purple and gold celebrated the All-Ireland intermediate title.
