Jack O'Connor picks 4 of last year's All-Ireland minor winning team for Tipp U21 clash

The Kingdom face the Premier County in Tralee on Wednesday.

FOUR PLAYERS WHO started for Kerry in last year’s  All-Ireland minor football final victory over Tipperary have been named in Jack O’Connor’s starting line-up for Wednesday evening’s EirGrid Munster U21 clash with the Premier County in Tralee.

O’Connor, who managed Kerry to successive All-Ireland minor titles in 2014 and 2015, has drafted Andrew Barry, Gavin White, Brandon Barrett and Brian Ó Seanacháin into his starting line-up.

Jason Foley and Conor Geaney, who also lined out against Tipp at Croke Park last September, are named among the substitutes.

Barry also featured in the 2014 minor final victory over Donegal while current senior Brian O’Beaglaoich, Brian Sugrue and Micheál Burns also played on that occasion.

O’Connor’s U21 team will be captained from left corner forward by former minor sensation Jack Savage, and Declan O’Sullivan is on board as selector.

There’s a heavy turnover in personnel from last year’s defeat to Cork as just four players who started then – O’Beaglaoich, Cathal Ó Lúing, Burns and Savage – are retained.
