Paul O’Connell, Jonny Sexton and Brian O’Driscoll showed up at Boyne RFC to teach some kids a lesson.

OUTSPRINTING AND OVERPOWERING a team of eager but inferior youths – it certainly beats getting thumped 60-0 by the All Blacks.

Boyne Rugby Football Club were the Under 9’s team who were crowned the lucky winners of the O2 ‘Play Them Next’ competition.

The team took to the pitch to play alongside the Ireland rugby stars Brian O’Driscoll, Paul O’Connell, and Jonathan Sexton at their local club in Drogheda.

Play Them Next gave the youngsters a once in a lifetime opportunity to play with their rugby heroes, in their local community, in front of their friends, supporters and neighbours.

They were then treated to a skills master-class, assisted by O’Driscoll, O’Connell and Sexton, followed by photos and signings with the trio.
