UEFA HAVE AWARDED the 2013 Champions League final to Wembley, president Michel Platini has announced at a news conference.
The famous London venue hosted European football’s showpiece event this season, when Barcelona beat Manchester United 3-1.
But Platini announced earlier that the game will return to Wembley in order to mark the 150th anniversary of the English FA.
The former France midfielder said UEFA had also been impressed with the organisation at this year’s match. ”This may seem exceptional but I think it was important for us to respect this anniversary of our game,” he said.
