'It's best if we say goodbye' - Berbatov takes to Facebook to vent anger

The Bulgarian striker says he loves Manchester United but feels he needs to move as he isn’t getting enough football.

DIMITAR BERBATOV HAS expressed his frustration at the situation he currently finds himself in at Manchester United.

The Bulgarian striker was expected to move on this summer after four years at Old Trafford due to the lack of game time he saw last season.

The 31-year-old joined the club from Tottenham Hotspurs for €38m but only made 21 appearances in all competitions last term – many of which were from the bench.

With rumours of bids from his former club Bayer Leverkusen and wealthy French side Paris Saint-Germain, it seemed only a matter of time before he departed but, with a month to go before the new season begins, Berbatov is fed up with the uncertainty which surrounds his future.

Although he would ideally love to remain at United, he is aware that he is no longer in Alex Ferguson’s plans and, on his official Facebook page today, said it was time to part ways.

He wrote: “Because I am tired of speculation, I am telling you this. I see they say £10m is my price, I go and talk with Sir Alex, and he says to me £5m. So who is telling the truth, what do you think?

And the truth is I love this club, but I am not going to be useful to anyone if I am not playing. I want to help. But for unknown reasons it’s not going to happen, or my chances will be limited, so it’s better for everyone if we say goodbye.

“If not, I am professional and I will keep doing everything I can to help my team and my team-mates, whenever I have the opportunity to do so.”
