Cavani scores a brilliant free-kick but Uruguay lose out on penalties

Italy have claimed 3rd place at the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

ITALY HAVE BEATEN Uruguay on penalties in the Confederations Cup third place play-off in Salvador.

With the game tied at 2-2 after 120 minutes, a shootout ended in a 3-2 win for the Azzurri with Gianluigi Buffon saving from Walter Gargano to clinch the win.

Edison Cavani had twice found the back of the net for Uruguay and this splendid free-kick was the pick of them.
