Ireland women win the Dubai 7s invitational

They’ll beat Tribes 7s 19-0 in the decider this afternoon.

IRELAND’S WOMEN HAVE won the Dubai World Sevens final after a 19-0 victory over Tribe 7s this afternoon.

The Jenny Murphy-captained side reached the decider after a 24-19 win over Almaty in the semi-final this morning and put in an even better performance to keep their Brisbane based opponents scoreless in the final.

Earlier, Ireland had topped Pool B with three wins and a draw to book their place in the knock-out stages of the international invitational section today.

During the group stages on Thursday, they followed up a 12-12 draw against Moscow Region with 48-0 and 33-5 over Georgia and Wales respectively before beating the Kenya Lionesses 43-7 in their final game of the day.
