Irish Wolfhounds beaten following poor second-half showing

England Saxons prevailed at The Sportsground this evening, following a late comeback.

THE IRISH WOLFHOUNDS have been beaten 14-10 by England Saxons at The Sportsground this evening.

The Irish had started well, with a converted Kevin McLoughlin try and a Paddy Jackson penalty giving them a 10-0 lead at half-time.

However, the hosts failed to emulate this display in the second period.

Two George Ford penalties brought England back to within four points of their opponents, and a Will Frazer try on 67 minutes gave them the lead for the first time in the game.

Another Ford penalty, this time from the half-way, put England four points ahead, and the Irish failed to recover thereafter.
