All the goals as Ireland beat Uruguay 3-1

There were three excellent goals from Ireland tonight in a comfortable win.

IRELAND HAVE DOMINATED possession in their friendly against Uruguay this evening and deservedly took the lead after 27 minutes.

Turning in minimal space, the Stoke striker unleashed a spectacular effort past Esteban Conde in the visitors’ goal:

Uruguay grew into the game after that, Martin Caceres’ header hitting the crossbar on 35 minutes and pulled level three minutes later through Jose Gimenenz.

A Uruguayan free kick wasn’t dealt with by the Ireland defence and, with Darren Randolph in no-man’s land, the Atletico Madrid man guided the ball home:

Walters had a great chance of a second goal in injury time at the end of the first half, but somehow conspired to hit the bar when it looked for all the world like he’d score:

Ireland retook the lead five minutes into the second half, Cyrus Christie cutting in from the right before curling a left-footed shot past Conde:

Ireland went 3-1 up after 71 minutes when James McClean scored an almost carbon copy of his goal against Austria with a lung-busting run down the left — running on to a fantastic through ball by Daryl Murphy, before firing home:
