THE IRELAND U20s lost out 17-15 in their opening Six Nations game with Wales at Colwyn Bay last night.
Mike Ruddock’s men had a good start to the game, going 7-3 ahead, thanks to a converted Luke McGrath try, and the score stayed that way until half-time.

Despite previously missing with several attempts, Wales’ Sam Davies slotted over a penalty just after the break, making it 7-6.
Chris Taylor’s sin-binning exacerbated Ireland’s troubles, and a Dion Jones converted try handed the hosts the advantage.
Ireland were given a boost when Nicky Thomas was shown yellow, and they took full advantage, as Tom Daly scored another try, but missed the ensuing conversion.
Both Davies and Daly added further penalties in the dying stages, with Wales ultimately holding out for a hard-fought win.
Mike Ruddock’s team go on to face England next Friday in Dubarry Park, Athlone.
