Keane, Whelan and Walters get the nod for German test

Ireland are away to the four-time World Cup winners tonight.

MARTIN O’NEILL HAS announced his team for tonight’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Germany (7.45pm kick-off).

David Meyler continues to deputise in place of the injured Seamus Coleman at full-back, while John O’Shea makes his 100th senior appearance in defence.

Glenn Whelan and Stephen Quinn return to midfield with Darron Gibson and Jeff Hendrick dropping out while Jon Walters gets the nod ahead of Wes Hoolahan.

James McClean and Aiden McGeady are likely to occupy the wings and, after scoring a hat-trick against Gibraltar, captain Robbie Keane starts up front.

Ireland XI v Germany: Forde, Meyler, O’Shea, Wilson, Ward, McGeady, Whelan, Quinn, McClean, Walters, Keane.
