HEAD COACH JOE Schmidt has included six uncapped players in a 34-man Ireland squad for four upcoming forthcoming November Tests.
Ireland will open their series against New Zealand in Chicago on November 5 before facing Canada, the All Blacks again and Australia on consecutive Saturdays across the month.
Leinster’s Garry Ringrose and Joey Carbery (aged 21 and 20 respectively) are among the uncapped six in the squad.
Munster prop John Ryan is included at the expense of his fellow Corkman Mike Ross who, until recently, held a proud record of starting every Test during the Schmidt reign.
Scrum-half Luke McGrath, hooker James Tracy and Munster lock Billy Holland make up the uncapped contingent.
Keith Earls has been included in the 34-man party despite being suspended for the opening Test against New Zealand in Chicago, while the back row is boosted by the addition of both Peter O’Mahony and Sean O’Brien after their recent return from long-term injury.

With Iain Henderson also in the group with a shoulder injury set to keep him sidelined for a fornight, Schmidt moved to point out that there are a number of players on standby for the series who may yet receive a call-up and that half of the below squad will be involved in this weekend’s inter-provincial clashes.
“Selections were difficult as always; trying to balance form, fitness, experience, combinations plus assess those players returning from injury or those carrying minor knocks or strains,” said the head coach.
