King signs off by naming squad for Latvia and Poland friendlies

The caretaker boss has recalled Stephen Ward and Alex Pearce in his last act in the job.

OUTGOING IRISH CARETAKER manager Noel King ended his duties this evening by naming a27-man squad for the two upcoming friendlies against Latvia and Poland.

New boss Martin O’Neill will be unveiled on Saturday before taking up his role two days later meaning the man charged with overseeing the team through their final two World Cup qualifiers was asked to pick a panel.

While Richard Dunne is the main absentee due to a groin injury, there are recalls for Stephen Ward and Alex Pearce.
