A DAY AFTER the manic Six Nations finale, the Irish women’s team will take the field in Scotland knowing exactly what they have to do.
Unlike Joe Schmidt’s side, the Ireland women play last so they will know whether they have to only win the game (if England beat France) or chase a big points total.
France’s defeat to Italy last weekend has put Ireland in a great position in the championship, and they are favoured by 33 points against Scotland this Sunday.

The game will be televised on RTÉ 2, so hopefully fans will be able to tune in to celebrate the second Irish championship of the weekend.
Ireland coach Tom Tierney has named an unchanged side from their 20-0 victory in Wales last weekend and the former scrum-half wasn’t getting caught up in all the permutations.
“It’s been a huge three months, a lot of change and getting to know new ways, thankfully the quality of the players have shone through in the results and fingers crossed Scotland will be another win,” Tierney said.
“We are going to be mentally ready to take Scotland on its merits, we have to win the game first before we are in a position to chance points. We are going to concentrate on our basics, in both defence and attack. We are going to keep doing what we have been doing throughout the 6 nations.”
Scotland v Ireland takes place at 13.00 on Sunday.
