IRELAND STILL HAVE a chance of qualifying for the 2012 Olympics after earning an impressive 1-1 draw against Korea at a sold-out Belfield tonight.
Korea – who are ranked sixth in the world – were favourites going into the game, but fell behind when David Ames opened the scoring for the hosts after 27 minutes.
And Ireland were on course for a shock win, until Hyun Woo-nam equalised from a penalty corner in the second half, causing the game to end all square.
Ireland have never qualified for an Olympics, but are still in with a chance with two games left to play – against Chile on Thursday and Malaysia on Sunday.
What a mess.

The evening echo were reporting that he was going to be announced as manager on Tuesday! He’s the only man for the job, should be moving mountains to get him.
Yeah I read this ages ago on the 42. We’re not goldfish.
