IRELAND WILL PLAY their Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland at the home ground of Glasgow Celtic later this year, it has been confirmed today.
The Boys in Green take on the Scots in their third fixture of the new campaign on 14 November, and with Hampden Park unavailable due to the Commonwealth Games, the Scottish FA have opted for Celtic Park.
“The Scottish FA has today confirmed that the venue for the UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying round Group D fixture between Scotland the Republic of Ireland will take place at Celtic Park, Glasgow,” a statement released today reads.
“The fixture on Friday, November 14 (7.45pm), will take place at the home of SPL champions Celtic FC as Hampden Park is not available.

“Away tickets details will be provided this week and ticket applications for Ireland fans can be made through the FAI’s away ticketing portal: www.fai.ie/away.”
It will no doubt be a special moment for Ireland manager Martin O’Neill and opposite number Gordon Strachan, who are both former Celtic managers.
