IRELAND HAVE MOVED back into the top five of the world rugby rankings for the first time since last October on the back of their victory against the All Blacks in Chicago on Saturday.
Joe Schmidt’s side claimed a historic 40-29 win to end the reigning world champions’ 18-Test winning streak.
The result sees Ireland return to the top five in the world rankings for the first time since their heavy Rugby World Cup quarter-final defeat at the hands of Argentina in Cardiff.

In the latest rankings, Ireland moved from sixth to fifth having picked up two ranking points for their win at Soldier Field.
New Zealand, for their part, dropped two ranking points but still remain more than five points clear of England, who are undefeated under Eddie Jones and face South Africa at Twickenham this weekend.
Australia and the Springboks remain in third and fourth respectively, although the Wallabies did widen the gap on their Rugby Championship rivals following their convincing victory against Wales at the Principality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Wales have fallen two spots to seventh — having been passed in the standings by Ireland and Argentina – as a result of their 32-8 loss to Australia
The Pumas have also overtaken Scotland and France in the rankings, to move into sixth, after they ended their four-match losing streak with a 54-20 win against Japan in Tokyo.
