This video proves how painfully slow the evolution of Ireland's rugby jersey was until this century

Still gotta love that 2003 kit with the stripes on the sleeves though.

THIS SIX NATIONS video was put together to show the start differences between Ireland’s international jerseys in 1971 and the modern hi-tech, tight and tough numbers.

But they really could have saved a heap of digging through the archive and just started from the year 2000.

It’s only then that our national jersey really started to move away from the big jumper look to something much more battle-ready.
