AFTER MONDAY’S HEROICS at the Aviva Stadium, Ireland’s players have been taking part in some well-deserved celebrations around Dublin.
The team got together in Copper Face Jack’s hours after their 2-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina and, before flying back to their respective clubs yesterday, a quartet of Robbie Keane, Wes Hoolahan, Robbie Brady and Shane Long paid a visit to The Auld Dubliner in Temple Bar.
Kit man Dick Redmond, who has become famous for wearing a Superman costume in the dressing room the other night, was also present.
A pub known for its live traditional music (and pricey pints), the lads even got up to perform a couple of numbers.
With Long on guitar and Brady and Hoolahan supplying backing vocals, Ireland captain Keane belted out ‘If I Were a Marrying Man’, before Long took centre stage for a rendition of ‘Black Velvet Band’.
Love that.
Boost to see Brady back but hopefully Wards Ireland career is done. Did well enough last few years but the Denmark performance and the Keane/ Arter situation weren’t pretty time for Doherty and Cunningham to take over
@Jason Oliver: Would agree with a lot of what you say. I have to say that I hope Brady does not just walk in to the eam, as he has being terrible lately. I know about the injuries.
Brady needs to get his game together. A lot of talent but need more than that . The game passes him too often. Before the injury he was very good but that is the past .
