The sides had been level before today, with one victory apiece, after Conor Niland lost out to Marton Fucsovics last night.
The Birmingham-born man showed great resilience to come back from two sets down, before eventually losing out 7-6, 6-4, 6-7, 2-6, 6-2.
Earlier in the day, James McGee had beaten Adam Kellner in another closely-fought encounter, ultimately triumphing 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4.
