Gabon have overtaken Ireland in the latest Fifa world rankings

65th, eh?

MARTIN O’NEILL’S Ireland have slipped to 65th in the latest Fifa world rankings.

Although the Boys in Green have not played since their friendly win against the USA in November, they have been pushed down the pecking order by Gabon who rise three places to 62nd.

There is very little change elsewhere with no movement at all in the world’s top 45. Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and Netherlands lead the way with Brazil, Portugal, France, Spain and Uruguay completing the top 10.

Ireland’s Group D rivals Scotland remain in 36th, Poland — who visit Dublin on 29 March — are 41st, while Georgia drop one place to 126th.

Roy Hodgson’s England remain 13th, Wales are unchanged in 34th while Northern Ireland move up one spot to 47th.
