Ireland defeat Scotland for second week running to win Shinty-Hurling series

Just like last week’s encounter, it was a closely fought affair at Bught Park today

IRELAND BEAT SCOTLAND 1-15 to 0-14 to win the overall Senior Shinty-Hurling International series at Bught Park in Inverness today.

Just like last week’s encounter in which the Irish side prevailed by six points, it was a closely fought affair, with the hosts leading 0-11 to 0-10 at half-time.

Nevertheless, a goal from Patrick Maher on 48 minutes effectively sealed Ireland’s series triumph, as a number of further points late on put an even more favourable look on the scoreline from the Irish team’s perspective.
