Interpro squad news: O'Sullivan banks on Rebel footballers; Kilkenny hurlers dominate

Here’s the latest squad news ahead of this weekend’s M Donnelly Interprovincial semi-finals.

MANAGER GER O’SULLIVAN has named seven Cork footballers in his Munster squad for the interprovincial semi-finals.

Noel O’Leary captains the squad for Sunday’s meeting with Ulster in the Athletic Grounds. O’Leary is joined by inter-county team-mates Paudie Kissane, Paul Kerrigan, Aidan Walsh, Colm O’Neill, Donncha O’Connor and Eoin Cadogan.

Waterford and Limerick are the next most represented counties with four players each.

Meanwhile players from last year’s beaten All-Ireland semi-finalists Cork and Tipperary make up the bulk of Liam Sheedy’s Munster hurling panel.

Sheedy has selected seven players from his native Tipp while Limerick and Cork each have six representatives. The hurling semi-final between Munster and Ulster throws-in at 12:30 in Armagh, the curtain-raiser before the football semi at 2:15.

Joe Dooley’s Leinster hurling squad is dominated by Kilkenny, with half of the 26-man squad drawn from the All-Ireland champions. Two-time All-Star Brian Hogan captains the squad for Sunday’s clash with Connacht in O’Connor Park, Tullamore.
