Injury update: Irish quintet set to sit out training

It has also been suggested that several of the squad’s key players will miss Saturday’s clash with Bosnia.

SHAY GIVEN, JOHN O’Shea, Richard Dunne, Keith Fahey and Kevin Foley are all set to miss the Ireland squad’s training session tomorrow, the FAI has confirmed.

However, the association has also emphasised that each of the players’ absences are precautionary and they are all likely to be fit for Ireland’s first Euro 2012 group game against Croatia on June 10.

Meanwhile, concerns over the fitness of Jonathan Walters, Robbie Keane, Shane Long and Keith Andrews have been allayed, after the quartet completed training this afternoon.

Of the injured players, Fahey is expected to play some part in Saturday’s friendly with Bosnia Herzegovina, though Giovanni Trapattoni may opt to rest O’Shea, Dunne, Foley and Given.
