Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano went back to work for the first time yesterday

A tearful Pagano returned to work less than three months after he was diagnosed with an acute form of leukaemia.

CHUCK PAGANO’S BATTLE against cancer has been one of the defining and most inspirational stories of the NFL season.

In September the Indianapolis Colts coach was diagnosed with an acute form of leukaemia and forced to take a break from sport.

Yesterday, with the green light from doctors and his cancer in remission, he returned to work. Just in time to help his team and rookie QB Andrew Luck get ready for the playoffs.

“Circumstances don’t make you,” a tearful Pagano told the media during a Christmas Eve press conference at the Colts training headquarters. “They reveal you.”
