TODAY’S GROUP D match between Euro 2012 co-hosts Ukraine and France was unusually unsuspended for nearly an hour due to torrential rain and a thunderstorm in Donetsk’s Donbass Stadium.
Referee Bjorn Kuipers called a halt to the match after just four minutes of play but, by 6pm, the high levels of water had been cleared from the pitch meaning the teams could get going again.
