Ian Poulter has hit the worst shot of this year's PGA Championship

This was one of those ‘snap the club’ moments.

WHEN FACED WITH a long putt over a ridge on the ninth hole during his second round at the PGA Championship, Ian Poulter decided to improvise and use a wedge instead of a putter.

Some would question the decision but the Valhalla course is one the English golfer knows well having produced some stunning performances here during the 2008 Ryder Cup.

However, this won’t go into any personal highlight reel for the 38-year old.

Poulter carded a double bogey six on the hole and is currently -2 for the tournament, one-over par on the day.
